Phimmalar Hoang is a dedicated flower farmer and lei maker whose life was turned upside down by the recent Kona Low storms. Over two weekends, her area was battered by relentless rain and flooding. The second weekend was especially devastating—floodwaters rose so high that they reached Phimmalar’s neck, and her son had to come and rescue her from her home. When the waters finally receded, nothing was salvageable. Her home was completely flooded, and her entire flower crop, which she relies on for her livelihood, was lost.
Phimmalar has always worked hard to bring beauty and tradition to her community through her lei making and flower farming. Now, she faces the daunting task of starting over with nothing. The funds raised here will help Phimmalar with her most basic living needs and give her the support she needs to restore her flower crops. With your help, she can begin to rebuild her home and her business, one step at a time.
Anything helps, no matter the amount. Phimmalar is deeply grateful for any support as she works to get back on her feet and bring her flowers back to life. Your kindness will make a real difference in her journey to recovery.
This GoFundMe was created by the volunteers from Help Maui Rise and will directly benefit Phimmalar Hoang and her bank information was added for her to withdraw directly.
