<div>Phimmalar Hoang is a dedicated flower farmer and lei maker whose life was turned upside down by the recent Kona Low storms. Over two weekends, her area was battered by relentless rain and flooding. The second weekend was especially devastating—floodwaters rose so high that they reached Phimmalar’s neck, and her son had to come and rescue her from her home. When the waters finally receded, nothing was salvageable. Her home was completely flooded, and her entire flower crop, which she relies on for her livelihood, was lost.
