The Philly Homeless Union is growing! Every week we meet 100 people living outside or seeking shelter in Philadelphia, offering coffee, snacks, and most importantly a chance to join the fight for our human right to housing.

On Friday mornings we collect stories of issues people have encountered and take collective action to get the issues resolved. We share information about housing resources, places to do laundry or get a shower, and free meals in the community.

And, we educate each other and find opportunities to take collective action to make change in Philadelphia -- from winning an ombudsman for homeless services, for fighting for a centrally located, 24-7 drop-in shelter that can meet the needs that are currently unmet, to fighting for housing for EVERYONE!

We are fundraising because as we have grown, our needs have grown as well. We need more funding for weekly snacks and supplies as our outreach grows, to support our members with transportation, phones, and other emergencies, and to buy more equipment (coolers, another coffeemaker, t-shirts).
