Help people from Bricourt get access to healthcare

Donations for the construction of the Bricourt Community Health Center!

Bricourt is a small locality in the second communal section of Cavaillon (Southern department of Haiti), where both geographic and financial accessibility to basic health services is very limited. This locality and its neighboring areas do not have any healthcare infrastructure that can compensate for this mismatch between health needs and the supply of care. The closest hospital is in Cavaillon (7 km away) and a local who wants to have access to a minimum of care is obliged to go there after hours of walking or to the hospital of Bonne Fin, which is located 28 kilometers from this so-called communal section, by taking a rocky and bumpy road.

Aware of this reality, ORENEB (Organisation pour la rénovation et l'épanouissement de Bricourt) a non-profit organization whose fields of interest are mainly health, education, and environment, decided to develop this project to implement a community healthcare center there.  This primary health care structure will be designed to provide preventive and curative care to a population of approximately 10,000 people.

Focusing on the preventive aspect, several previous interventions such as mobile clinics, education and awareness activities have been carried out by the organization; this has allowed the population to be informed about certain diseases, but certain factors remain present in the environment such as: lack of access to drinking water, children not yet vaccinated.

The cost of the project is 3,402,040 Gourdes or $46,213.48 US dollars. Thanks to your donations and those of other Benefactor Organizations, we will be able to achieve the construction of the building necessary for the initial care of the patients.

Dons pour la construction du centre communautaire de santé de Bricourt ! 

Bricourt est une petite localité de la deuxième section communale de Cavaillon (département du Sud d'Haïti), où l'accessibilité tant géographique que financière aux services de base est très limitée. Cette localité et ses zones avoisinantes ne disposent d'aucune infrastructure sanitaire pouvant pallier cette inadéquation entre les besoins de santé et l'offre de soins. L'hôpital le plus proche se trouve à Cavaillon (distance de 7 km) et un paysan qui veut avoir accès à un minimum de soin, est obligé de s'y rendre après des heures de marche ou à l’hôpital de Bonne Fin qui se situe à 28 kilomètres de cette dite section communale en empruntant une route rocailleuse et cahoteuse.

Consciente de cette réalité, l’ORENEB (Organisation pour la rénovation et l'épanouissement de Bricourt) une organisation à but non lucratif dont les domaines d'intérêt sont principalement la santé, l'éducation et l'environnement, a décidé d'élaborer ce projet visant à y implémenter un centre communautaire de santé.  Cette structure de soins de santé primaire sera destinée à fournir à une population d’environ 10 000 personnes, des soins préventifs et curatifs.

En s'accentuant sur le volet préventif, plusieurs interventions antérieures telles que des cliniques mobiles, des actions d’éducation et de sensibilisation ont été faites par l'organisation ; ce qui a permis à la population d’être renseignée sur certaines maladies, mais certains facteurs demeurent présents dans l’environnement : manque d’accès à l’eau potable, enfants non encore vaccinés.

Le coût du projet est de 3 402 040 Gourdes soit $ 46 213.48 dollars Américains. Grace à vos dons et ceux d'autres Organisations bienfaisantes, nous pourrons parvenir à la construction du bâtiment devant accueillir ces patients.
