My name is Pedro Caviedes. I am 15 years old and have been hypertensive since the age of 5. Over the years, I have learned about the importance of being able to purchase, cook, and enjoy healthy meals. Today, I want to share not only my knowledge but also my time to give access to healthy food to underserved communities in my area.
Inflation has become so exaggerated over the years that buying one tomato can cost 5 times more than it did 5 years ago. Many of the basic foods today are full of preservatives, hormones, and pesticides. Some weeks, it is almost impossible for some families to get to Sunday with three hot meals at home.
In the future, I want to become a chef. That is why now I am not only volunteering to purchase food with your donations but also to prepare meals for underserved communities on special days like Thanksgiving, Christmas, or bad times like hurricane seasons. My goal is to make sure that everybody has a meal in the good and even the bad times.
