My name is Talea, and I don’t often ask for help, but my cousin Ashton’s daughter, Peyton, who is just four years old, has been diagnosed with her third type of cancer in her young life. Peyton now faces a daunting battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a highly aggressive form of cancer.
Ashton, Peyton and Phate must now travel to Sick Kids in Toronto for a second time, for at least 100 days, where Peyton will undergo a bone marrow transplant after a round of intense treatment.
This long journey will be difficult, but it is critical for her survival. While at the IWK Health Centre, Peyton’s 3-year-old sister, Phate has also been identified as a perfect match for a bone marrow transplant. Ashton has bravely decided to allow her sister to be the donor, hoping to save Peyton’s life.
This Toronto trip is very costly. In the first few weeks, hotel and food are not covered, and after the transplant, the girls will have to live apart for at least a month. This is where financial help is urgently needed.
We are raising funds to bring a few family members and close friends to Toronto to help care for Phate, allowing her to remain near her Mom and sister. There is a rotating schedule, with loved ones stepping in week by week, to make sure she always has someone by her side.
Any support, whether financial or sharing this campaign, is deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
