Hi, I’m Teresa, and I’m raising funds for a very dear friend of our family—my husband’s best friend, Paul. Paul is a 61-year-old single father who has spent the past decade raising his two children on his own after their mother left shortly after their daughter was born. His kids, now 11 and 12, are thriving thanks to his unwavering dedication.

Recently, Paul underwent open-heart surgery to repair his heart valves. While the surgery was successful, recovery is long and difficult. With no family to care for him, he is currently staying with us while a kind neighbor helps ensure the children don’t miss school. During this time, we discovered Paul’s home is in urgent need of major repairs—work he cannot safely handle while recovering. The most critical needs include bathroom plumbing and flooring, kitchen floor damage that requires removing the counter and sink, and basic materials such as a 6-foot countertop with sink, sheetrock, paint, a full-size refrigerator, and a washing machine.

We are asking for help in any form: donations to cover materials and professional plumbing/flooring work, in-kind items such as building materials or appliances, skilled labor from anyone able to lend a hand, or simply sharing this story if you’re unable to give.
