My son, Paul Fontaine Jr, is currently hospitalized with Blastomycosis. It's caused by exposure to mold, which we believe happened in his apartment. He works from home and rarely leaves his suite except to come to our house to look after his little sister once a week.

He was placed in a medically induced coma, which he's still in at the time of this writing. Even when he recovers, it will be some time before he can leave the hospital and even longer before he can work again.

Paul lives clean. No drinking, no drugs, no smoking. He works, plays video games and watches his little sister. He makes just enough to get by, sometimes not even that much, as we've discovered that he's behind on some of his bills, which will put him even more behind.

We hope to raise money to pay his bills so that he'll have less to worry about when he comes out of the coma. He won't be able to look after his sister while he's recovering, and the money Paul makes helps cover the gaps he makes at his job, which pays him just above the poverty level. That looks to be about $1,500 in total (so far). The rest of the money will be put into an account he can draw from over the next few months as he recovers.

I know many of you are praying for him and sending positive thoughts, and I want to thank you all on behalf of my family as it means a lot and is helping. It will mean so much for him not to have to worry about money while he's recovering.
