Help My Mom Get Safe Shelter & Fix Her Van!

My mom, Patricia Craven, has been living in her van for the past two years, along with her beloved cat, doing her best to stay safe and keep going despite so many challenges. Unfortunately, her only source of shelter and transportation, her van, has just broken down and needs a new transmission!

The mechanic can’t take her in for another two weeks. To make matters worse, the van’s air conditioning started making a burning smell, so she has been told not to run it for fear of a fire. In Carson City, NV, summer days are brutally hot, and without AC, it’s unsafe for her and her cat to remain inside the vehicle, as you can imagine.

Right now, there is only one motel nearby that will allow her to stay with her cat, but she can’t afford the cost on her own, and Mike and I are unfortunately not in a financial position to help either.

I’m asking for help to cover 2–4 weeks of motel expenses so she has a safe place to stay until her van is repaired, and to help pay for the transmission repair itself so she can get back on the road and regain some stability.

Every dollar will go directly to:

-Safe lodging for her and her cat while she waits for repairs

-Transmission replacement & repair costs to get her van running again
