Help Parker & Kati Get Back on the Road
Hi everyone,
My name is Zack, and I'm starting this GoFundMe to help my brother Parker and his wife Kati get their car back on the road.
About a year ago, their longtime vehicle finally gave out and had to be sold to a scrapyard. They managed to replace it with a used 1999 VW Beetle with a manual transmission. Kati even learned how to drive stick just so they could make it work. Unfortunately, not long after they bought it, the clutch failed — leaving them without reliable transportation once again.
Now they’re back to square one. Parker is currently unemployed, as he suffers from epilepsy and experiences frequent seizures, which makes it extremely difficult to maintain a full-time job. He was recently offered a position, but was let go on his first day due to his condition. It’s been a tough road for both him and Kati, and not having a working vehicle makes everything — from getting to medical appointments to buying groceries — even harder.
They’re currently relying on public transportation, which is limited and unreliable in their area.
I've offered to install a new clutch for them myself to save on labor costs, but none of us can currently afford the parts — and that’s why I’m asking for help. If you're able to contribute anything, no matter how small, it would mean the world to them and to me.
Parts Needed to Complete the Repair:
Clutch Kit – $184
Pilot Bushing – $22
Transmission Fluid (3 quarts) – $73
I’ve added a little extra to the fundraiser total to cover taxes and any unexpected issues that might come up during the repair. Since I haven't been able to fully inspect the transmission yet, there’s a chance something else may be worn or damaged.
This repair should take a day or two once we have everything we need.
Thank you for taking the time to read their story, and thank you in advance for your kindness and support.
— Zack
Edit:. Thank you everyone who noted. It means so much to them and me. I'm going to be shutting off the fundraiser tonight and ordering the parts for them. Your kindness and generosity has blown us away. Thank you so much.
