Parbati Joshi, the daughter of farmers from the remote village of Goljungbesi, Rasuwa in Nepal, grew up with dreams far bigger than the life set before her. In a world where girls were expected to stay home while boys went to school, eight-year-old Parbati made a bold choice - she ran to school instead of staying behind to care for her younger brother. That single step changed everything.
Despite many obstacles - mornings in the classroom, evenings filled with housework - cutting grass, collecting firewood, caring for her siblings - she never gave up. Then, in ninth grade, illness nearly took her life, and hopelessness nearly consumed her. But in her darkest moment, she found a new strength - giving up was not an option.
Her journey led her to Pokhara, where she discovered her true love - the mountains. Against all odds, she became a trekking guide. In 2019, she completed her advanced mountaineering training, and now, she is preparing for her biggest challenge yet - Everest. In mid-April, she will set out to climb the world’s highest peak, but she needs support to make it happen.
For Parbati, Everest is more than just a mountain. It represents every struggle she has overcome, every dream she refused to let go of. More than anything, she wants to show young girls from rural villages that they, too, can reach heights they never imagined.
With only a short time left before her expedition begins, we are coming together to support her climb. Every donation, big or small, brings her one step closer to making it a reality. Let’s show Parbati that she’s not climbing alone - let’s help her reach the top!
Help Parbati make her dream a reality - and prove that no mountain is too high when you have the courage to climb.
