Soy Valeria Echeverri y soy quien apadrino a esta hermosa familia y hace aproximadamente dos años.. siempre he hecho lo que está a mi alcance pero ahora quiero darle a Paola un futuro digno!

El simple hecho de que ha valorado cada oportunidad que se le a dado me hace siempre creer en ella y que realmente merece paz, plenitud, tranquilidad y mucha felicidad!!

Paola y sus hijos viven una dura realidad … Bajo un puente, en una casa construida con materiales reciclados al lado del río Medellín, debajo del Puente de la Madre Laura, donde cada lluvia es una amenaza y cada noche, una lucha contra el frío, el ruido, la inseguridad y el miedo que trae su seguridad y la de sus hijos de algún abusó.

Cuentan con mismo para toda la comunidad. Solo uno. están todo el tiempo expuestos a infecciones urinarias por falta de higiene y muchas enfermedades por el río . ¿Te imaginas criar a tus hijos así? ¿Con hambre, sin privacidad, sin paz?

Y aun así, Paola no se rinde. Trabaja, sueña, lucha. Pero sola no puede. A aprovechado cada oportunidad en la que la he apoyado y por eso quise hacer este Gofundme, ella terminó el colegio y también a hecho diferentes cursos cómo FUNDAMENTACION VIGILANCIA Y GESTIÓN LOGÍSTICA DE EVENTOS los cuales terminó y tiene sus diplomas.

Su sueño es ser esteticista y tener un hogar digno para el crecimiento de sus hijos y por darles una buena alimentación para su desarrollo y crecimiento, que sean felices y no estén viviendo con una duda día a día

THIS IS HER STORY

I arrived in Moravia, Colombia due to displacement from armed conflict after one of my brothers was murdered with 32 stab wounds. My other brother and my mother were injured. After living through that tragic moment, we decided to move to Moravia, where I was given a small plot of land to build a little shack. I built it with wood and lived there for four years, but tragedy struck again when my house caught fire, and I lost everything I had. I escaped with my children, wearing only the clothes we had on. The fire happened on August 18, 2017. From that moment, my life changed drastically. I had nowhere to go and no place to stay. I had no choice but to move under the Madre Laura bridge with my four children.

I am a single mother of three girls and one boy. I want to move forward to give them a better life. Living under the bridge, we are constantly at risk due to bacteria and diseases from the river’s pollution. When it rains heavily, the river overflows, and evacuations are necessary. There is only one public bathroom in the community, and my daughters frequently suffer from urinary infections.

My dream is to finish high school and pursue a career so I can provide a better future for my family. I want to have a decent home where my children are safe and can grow up healthy.

My name is Valeria Echeverri, and I met this family in Medellín, Antioquia. I adopted them. Paola used to clean my apartment, and one day she opened up to me about her story. I went to her place to see the reality, and when I saw the conditions that they live in (under a bridge called PUENTE DE LA MADRE LAURA in Medellín where the Medellín river crosses), I knew I had to help.
