Pandemic Resistance Inc. is a grassroots community organisation made up of ordinary Australians who just couldn't standby and watch the unnecessary death and suffering happening around us.

There are simple steps that we can take to reduce the burden of Covid on our families, our communities, our economy and our lives.

By sharing evidence-based advice from trusted experts about transmission, the risks and the ways you can protect yourself and your family, we hope to show everyone that infection is not inevitable.

We're currently running a billboard campaign designed to draw attention to the poor state of infection control in Australian hospitals - Covid, Influenza, RSV, Measles and many other viruses spread primarily via the airborne route (i.e. you are more likely to breath them in rather than be infected by touching something).

Despite knowing this fact, healthcare facilities take few to no precautions to mitigate airborne transmission - like employing HEPA air filters, asking staff and patients (where able) to wear respiratory masks, providing adequate leave for sick staff, routinely testing for infection, and isolating infectious patients to reduce the risks of the infection spreading to other vulnerable patients.

We're attempting to collect patient stories about accessing hospital care across Australia to collect evidence for future advocacy. Frankly, some of the stories that we have heard so far are horrific. Did you know that it is estimated that up to 15% of Covid deaths come from hospital acquired infections - if our hospitals had protected those patients, many of them would be alive today.

Hospitals are one place that sick and vulnerable people have no choice but to access - and they should be protected when they do.

Everyone deserves safe access to healthcare.
