Help Pam and Gerald Rebuild After Beryl

Donation protected
As most can still remember, Hurricane Beryl wreaked havoc on Brazoria County in July 2024. Unfortunately, our grandparents, Pam (73) and Gerald Koenning (75), lost their home they've lived in since 1979. A home they raised 3 kids and 2 grandkids in. They had a 4+ foot wide, 70+ year old tree that fell in the storm. When it fell, the root system came up and lifted the house, while the branches busted through the roof. It was a total loss due to the whole foundation being crumpled. The insurance company is not paying near the amount needed to rebuild.

Many of you in Brazoria County may know Gerald through him being a volunteer firefighter for Clute Fire Department for 33 years. He was Fire Chief for 14 of those years. He served and helped keep the City of Clute safe with great courage and selflessness. In 1982, Gerald was burned in a fire at a local tire shop, resulting in 2nd degree burns to 37% of his body. Once he was healed, he went right back to firefighting. Protecting and serving is who he is. Before he was a firefighter, he served as a Police Officer for 1 year. He was also a Charter member of Clute EMS for 4 years. Pam worked in the cafeteria at Brazoswood High School for 21 years. Gerald has worked for Evco in Freeport for 35 years and counting. They have been active members of Temple Baptist in Clute since 1964, where Pam worked the nursery for 52 years and Gerald has been an ordained minister and deacon for 40+ years. They are some of the most generous, loving, God-fearing people I have ever met. I have always thought of them as being such a great example of the Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." They are the type of folks that can have anything thrown their way and still praise God in all his greatness.
They would NEVER ask for help but with their hesitant approval we are creating this fundraiser in hopes to relieve some of the financial burden that comes with this devastating loss. They deserve a home to call their own again.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and would be such a huge blessing for them.
