Help Paloma Secure Her Future

Hello, my name is Mae Powell, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting my incredible friend, Paloma. Paloma moved to the United States in 2020 with hopes of creating a better future for herself. Since then, she has worked tirelessly, balancing school and work, to build a life and pursue her dreams.

Now, Paloma is in the process of applying to remove the conditions on her residency and secure a permanent green card, but the financial burden is overwhelming. The USCIS filing fees alone are incredibly expensive, and with the extended processing times due to changes in immigration policies during the last administration, her future is uncertain. As it stands, if she leaves the country, her application will be denied and she won’t be able to re-enter. This means that her upcoming trip to Colombia would be the last time she can see any of her family that live outside of the US for at least a few years. 

On top of this, Paloma is working hard to complete her prerequisites for nursing school.

She is dedicated to becoming a nurse, a career she is passionate about, but the stress of managing her status, school, and work while trying to save for filing fees, medical exams, and legal representation is taking a toll.

Paloma is kind, hardworking, and always there for everyone who needs help, but right now, she needs the help of her community to move forward in her journey.

Our goal is to raise $3,500, which will cover:

    •    USCIS filing fees

    •    Medical exams

    •    Lawyer representation to ensure the application is processed correctly
