Help Our Palestinian Neighbors in Seattle
Donation protected
Why a photo of an apple tree? That's more or less how we met our new neighbors, a family from Palestine. While picking fallen apples in the backyard, the father introduced himself to us. After sharing apples and a frustrating session trying to install his new SIM card, we learned more of their story and current needs.
This family came to Seattle from Jenin (West Bank) by way of Egypt, Jordan, and Istanbul. We are in the process of connecting them with local organizations, but they made this trek all on their own without any sponsors. They do not speak English, so language has also been a barrier.
What they need right now is money. Aside from the cost of living in Seattle, money will be used to get their parents out of Palestine and to safety.
Additional information on us:
My wife and I live in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle, WA. So far we have raised $2,200 from friends, but want to be able to provide our neighbors more sustainable financial support. Identifying information about the family has been withheld at their request.
