I’m writing this on behalf of my sister-in-law, a dedicated stay-at-home mom of four wonderful children — ages 10, 7, 3, and 1 — who now finds herself in the middle of a painful custody and child support battle.

She has been in a long-term relationship for over 15 years, fully committed to raising their children and maintaining a stable home. Recently, after learning of deep betrayals, she made the brave decision to separate from the children’s father. Since then, he has hired a very aggressive attorney and is seeking shared custody — despite not having consistently supported her or the children financially, emotionally, or physically during their time apart.

She is doing everything in her power to keep life steady for the kids, who have always been with her full-time. They are her entire world. But the reality is: she cannot afford legal representation on her own. As a full-time, stay-at-home mom, she simply doesn't have the income to fight a court case — especially against a well-funded attorney.

This isn’t about conflict or revenge. It’s about protecting four young children from being uprooted or used as leverage. It’s about making sure a good mom has the legal help she needs to continue caring for them in a safe, loving, and familiar environment — and securing appropriate child support so she can keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Legal fees are high — even a basic family law retainer can run $3,000 to $5,000. Every dollar raised here will go directly toward her legal defense and the urgent filings she needs to protect her kids.
