I’ve had P since she was just 4 days old. Today, she’s just one week away from turning 7. She is my whole heart — and while I’ve been “Mom” in every way that matters, the legal side of things hasn’t caught up yet.

The adoption process is long, expensive, and exhausting — especially as a single mom working in education. While there are grants available to help, they’re only accessible after everything is finalized.

I’m raising $5,000 to finally get us across the finish line. Here’s where the funds are going:

$750 – Application to Adoption & Beyond

$3,750 – Required home study services

$350–$400 – Court filing fees to begin the legal process

Attorney fees – The State of Missouri will pay up to $1,500 directly to the attorney. Any additional legal costs beyond that will come out of pocket.
