Help Owen get the VR headset he was robbed of!

Hello! Thank you for visiting Owens Go Fund Me! We are so grateful for everyone who has it in their heart to donate to help Owen get the VR headset he had saved up for. Owen saved for an entire year by mowing lawns, pet sitting our neighbors dog and fish and doing extra chores around the house. He worked so hard and didn’t spend his money, that is really hard for a 10 year old boy!
On the Sunday before last, Owen was really wanting to see if we could find a used headset that he could afford. He saved $165 and his little brother threw in $10 so that we could offer someone $175. A man from Rapid City, SD named Jon Paul Schell said he would take $175 for the exact model owen wanted so badly! Owen was thrilled and the man had many good seller reviews on FB marketplace and was very responsive. We went to the bank to deposit Owens hard earned money and even snapped the photo above on the way. I should have listened to my gut that something was wrong when he wouldn’t use PayPal but instead wanted to use Cashapp. Huge lesson learned there! But I went along with the Cashapp money transfer and he assured me he would send the oculus the next day. Well it has now been over a week since this discussion took place and there’s no tracking number no oculus and no refund.
My heart is broken for my 10 year old son. He had all of his piggy bank money robbed and learned a hard lesson about trusting strangers. I also learned a lesson about not allowing my sons excitement to blind me to the fact that I’m being taken advantage of. I wanted him to get this thing he worked for so badly that I ignored warning signs that I shouldn’t have. This is obviously not an emergency but if it is on your heart to give to help Owen we are so grateful! Thank you all so much ❤️
