OVRHL was born from a simple belief: healing is our birthright.
We created a sanctuary where movement becomes ritual, breath becomes medicine, and community becomes a pathway back to ourselves. Through hot pilates, yoga, breathwork, and holistic wellness practices, we've built a space for transformation, connection, and collective care.
Every class, every conversation, every drop of sweat contributes to something larger than any one of us. We believe that when people gather to move, heal, and witness one another, we honor the ancestors who dreamed of our freedom, joy, and wholeness. In a world that often pulls us away from ourselves and from each other, OVRHL exists as a place to reconnect, reclaim our power, and remember that wellness belongs to all of us.
In just one year and three months, our community has grown beyond anything we imagined.
What began as a vision has become a movement. Classes fill up, friendships form, collaborations emerge, and every week new people walk through our doors searching for something they haven't been able to find elsewhere. Time and time again, we hear the same thing:
"I needed a space like this."
At OVRHL, we trust our intuition. We trust what the community is asking for.
Right now, the call is clear: it's time to grow.
We're raising funds to help us build showers, a sauna, and expand into a larger movement space that can hold the next chapter of this community.
- The sauna will create space for recovery, restoration, reflection, and connection.
- Showers will make it easier for people to move with us before work, after work, and in between everything else life demands.
- A larger footprint will allow us to expand our offerings with weighted group fitness, strength & conditioning, workshops, and classes, giving our community the opportunity to access more of their movement medicine under two roofs.
Here's what we're building together:
- $22,000 — Showers & sauna buildout
This feels like a community project in the truest sense. If 440 people give $50, we get there. If everyone gives what they can, we get there together.
- $15,000–$20,000 — Equipment
Weights, strength & conditioning equipment, and movement tools to support new classes and offerings.
- $10,000–$12,000 — Sound system
Because at OVRHL, the playlist matters almost as much as the programming.
- $20,000 — Initial buildout costs
Construction, improvements, and all the behind-the-scenes work required to bring this vision to life.

We are Black, Queer, radically rooted in the cultural legacy of Oakland, and committed to creating spaces where people can walk in their truth, reconnect to their bodies, and feel fully themselves. We believe healing can be embodied, communal, and transformative.
