in May 2025 at the age of 48 I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. I have no family history and had no symptoms.

I have had chemo as well as a full hysterectomy as part of my treatment plan. I’m responding to treatment however my doctor said that this type of cancer almost always comes back. Once my chemo is completed I will be receiving a medication called Avastin for a year.

I am also a type 1 diabetic with retinopathy. I receive eye injections in both eyes about every three months. While I do have health insurance, deductibles, copays and out of pocket expenses do add up.

I’ve been out of work since May and I am receiving a reduced income.
