help our youth and homeless in atlanta
Donation protected
My name is Selina Asefaw and I need your help raising funds for Atlanta's low-income youth and homeless population... ASAP.
For the Youth: The school year has just begun and many students are without the necessary supplies to succeed. These resources include notebooks, pens and pencils, cameras (for online school), calculators, disinfecting wipes, textbooks and books, backpacks, and masks to name a few. I also aim to help parents of kids and infants by providing things like diapers, baby wipes, baby food, non-perishable food items, thermometers, pads, tampons, and soap. Aside from raising money to purchase things, I will also be holding a clothing fundraiser, a book drive, and general donations drive.
For the Homeless: In Atlanta, our city has failed many of its residents. Through gentrification and a lack of necessary resources the homeless population Atlanta is extremely high. Though it is only a small band-aid to a bigger problem, I plan to use these funds to purchase food items, reusable water bottles, masks, hand sanitizer, caps/shades, toiletries, umbrellas/ponchos, baby wipes, flip flops, socks nailclippers, chapstick, bandaids, tarp, vitamins/EmergenC, and duffle bag/backpacks to put it all in. Items donated from the drives will also be given out. Along with everything listed above, I'll be providing maps/printed resources people can use to find shelters, soup kitchens, and more.
These lists are non-exhaustive and depending on how much is raised, first priority goes to the absolute necessities. I'm from Atlanta and all I see around me are people who were already vulnerable pre-pandemic, fall through the cracks during the pandemic. It started with just wanting to help our young girls but now with your support I would like to help a larger part of my community.
Everything donated goes towards my mission. As I make progress, I will update this page to fill you guys in on where your money is going . Anything counts, anyone can help.
