What: Help our student drone team take the next step—competing at the UAS4STEM Championship at AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in July (pending qualification, with results expected May 1). With your help, we're not just chasing a trophy—we’re sharpening our STEM skills, strengthening our teamwork, and building the confidence and capability that will prepare us for college and careers ahead.

If we don’t qualify, your support will still go directly toward our STEM learning, equipment, and future competitions—and we’re happy to refund your donation if you’d prefer.

Who: This year’s team is a talented and diverse group of nine students (three young women and six young men) from five high schools, representing all grade levels from 9 through 12. Our team is part of Explorer Post 1010. Rockville Science Center (RSC) hosts our team for meetings and build sessions.

Why: Our team has worked hard to qualify for the UAS4STEM Championship, and we are excited for them to have the opportunity to enhance and demonstrate their engineering, teamwork, and presentation skills while competing against five other teams in the Advanced class. They will also network with industry leaders and other future engineers, and participate in AirVenture activities.

When: We are raising funds from now through July 16.

How: Donate here to help support our team. Our current GoFundMe goal ($7,592) is 50% of the total estimated travel cost, which includes airfare, lodging, meals, and local transportation. Donations are typically tax-deductible in the U.S., and no amount is too small (or too large).
