Whenever you may think you have things rough, there is always someone with a harder struggle. Today, that someone is Nadia, daughter of SPC Richard Owusu of the 1048th MTC in Enfield, CT. Nadia was recently diagnosed with a rare malignant orbital tumor - Optic Nerve Meningioma. This was discovered during the final training period of SPC Owusu's new employment with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office in MA, a position he worked very hard to obtain. Unfortunately, his daughter Nadia's tragic diagnosis forced him to resign his new position due to his having to transport Nadia to numerous specialists throughout CT, Boston, and is now extending to Florida. Specialists in Boston are referring Nadia to Miami for surgery and a specialized treatment that may work. However, this would cause both her and SPC Owusu to have to stay down there for an extended period of time due to the complexity of the surgery and treatment. All of this while maintaining his household that also consists of his wife and young son with little funds and little hope. Despite these extreme hardships, he maintains faith and a positive attitude. SPC Owusu is an exceptional, dedicated soldier and family man. This has caused a major lapse in income and extreme financial stress on SPC Owusu and his entire family. Helping hands are what this family needs right now. During these unpredictable times, absolutely anything helps. Thank you in advance.
