Help Our Neighbors Displaced by Fire –Your Support is Urgent

Dear neighbor,

My name is Jason Chavez and I am reaching out on behalf 8 residents who were recently displaced by a fire.

Just before 10:30 pm on December 10th, a fire displaced 8 renters whose building was destroyed by the fire on the 2400 block of 15th Avenue South. These individuals are now facing an uncertain future, without shelter or the basic necessities they need to get through this devastating time.

Many of us in the community have already started organizing efforts to provide immediate support, but we need your help to make sure these neighbors are not left without the care and resources they need. Your generous donation will help us:

Provide Temporary Shelter: We have arranged an Airbnb for the 8 individuals impacted until Saturday. However, we need financial support to keep these individuals safe and secure while we work on finding them permanent housing.

Provide Meals: Many of the displaced residents are without access to food or basic necessities. Donations will help us provide hot meals, groceries, and essentials.

Support Long-Term Housing Solutions: While we focus on meeting the immediate needs, your contributions will also help us plan and coordinate long-term housing and recovery options for these individuals as they begin to rebuild their lives.

Recovery of belongings damaged during the fire.

The residents affected by this fire are already facing incredibly difficult circumstances and are now left without shelter and no means to get back on their feet.

Every donation will help ensure that our neighbors are not left to face this hardship alone. We are committed to doing everything we can to support them through this crisis. Our Minneapolis community always shows up for one another. Thank you for considering helping those who need it most.

This fundraiser is meant to directly help the residents that were impacted by the fire. The residents were Jesus Rodriguez Trejo, David Granado Flores, Gerardo Landa Valentin, Jose Rodriguez, Luis Hernandez, Alfredo Garcia, Eduardo Morales, and Merquiades.

The residents have temporary shelter until January 20, 2025..

I will be meeting with the residents at their hotel and working with them on a plan to use these funds for food and meals, long term housing, and recovery of belongings impacted by the fire.
