Help Our Mum Stay Toasty In Winter As She Kicks Cancers Butt
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Souls,
Earlier this year, our lovely mum, Tanya Mattin, received life-changing news: she was diagnosed with the rarest form of multiple myeloma, an incurable type of blood cancer that has turned her world upside down. Despite facing acute kidney failure, multiple skeletal fractures, and spending two months in a hospital bed before finally being diagnosed, she has shown remarkable strength and resilience. Against all odds, she has been responding incredibly well to treatment, and there’s now hope that she could achieve full remission for the first time.
However, the battle isn’t over yet. Soon, our brave mum will undergo a stem cell transplant, the best chance we have to give her many more laps around the sun. While this treatment offers hope, it will also leave her extremely vulnerable to cold, viruses, and infections—especially during the winter months.
Tanya has worked tirelessly her entire life, dedicating the past 28 years to the same workplace while raising her family and supporting others through her work. She’s always put others before herself, whether it’s her family, friends, or those she cares for through her job.
Before her diagnosis, she had been saving to have central heating installed in her home, where she has lived for the last 35 years. She has made do with a gas fire and a small heater at the top of the stairs. Due to her health and the impact this will have on her future, she has been advised to have central heating installed to aid her recovery. Unfortunately, she was not eligible for financial assistance. When she came out of the hospital this March, she had to prioritise adapting her bathroom to make it more accessible for her current needs. This necessary adjustment used up the funds she had carefully set aside, leaving her without the means to install the heating system she now urgently needs.
That’s why we are reaching out to you today. We’ve started this GoFundMe to raise the money needed to install central heating in her home before the cold weather sets in. The warmth and stability of a heated home will be essential to her recovery and safety this winter. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards making her home a safe and warm place for her to continue her fight.
Your support means the world to us, whether through a donation or simply sharing this appeal with others who might be able to help. Together, we can make sure that our mum has the best possible environment for her recovery.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of her journey to better health.
Warm regards,
