Hi, my name is Brittany and my family and I are excited about our upcoming move to Tennessee! My partner and I are both Bay Area natives and while we’d love to continue to raise our almost 1yr old son here, the cost of living has made it impossible. My sister and her family have so generously offered us the temporary use of their in-law unit until we’ve had time to establish ourselves and settled into life in TN. I am hoping to continue my career in teaching (I’ve been teaching kindergarten here in the Bay for the past 14 years). My partner, who has been an amazing stay-at-home-dad this past year for our son, will also be re-entering the workforce. We’ve saved up as much money as possible, while still paying out outrageous rent, and have decided there is no time better than now to make the leap. Unfortunately, the sheer cost of moving cross country (UHaul rental, car towing, gas, and travel lodging) is steep and we do not believe our little nest egg will cover it. We are graciously asking our friends and family for any support they may be able to extend during this momentous time of transition.
