Help our heritage railway’s track restoration project

Our Story So far:
We are a community railway that offers train rides in various restored railway vehicles along our railway line. Our aim is to preserve the industrial railway heritage of Northamptonshire for future generations to see, experience, learn about and enjoy.
Our track originally was 1.5 miles long. The line has declined and had to be significantly shortened over the years.
We have battled to maintain and lengthen our track but sleepers are very expensive, over £50 or £100 (if longer where points are/tracks cross). With up to a £600 delivery charge depending on how many can be bought at one time.
Currently, we are slowly extending our line by the shed gates to allow ‘train-day’ sessions, where interested visitors can have a 3 hour train experience at our railway, increasing our income which will also help to grow and improve our site and everyone’s experience. We can only achieve this in little steps as the materials are sourced, purchased and labour found to lay it all. We need 100 sleepers for this project. This is why we are asking for your help to raise funds:
Target 1: to restore a short extension near our yard to allow ‘experience days.’ This will entail replacing short lengths of track into the beginning of our loop.
To do this, we are trying to raise £5,000
