Help Our Healthcare Team Change Lives in Nepal

My name is Rachel Frazin. After I lost my daughter to suicide I yearned to use my skills as a nurse practitioner and mother to create a comprehensive health care program in a poorly resourced country. I began leading teams to Nepal's remote mountain villages where we treat patients for problems like hypertension, chronic lung disease, and painful spines and arthritic joints from a subsistence way of life. Our dental team cleans teeth, pulls those that are abscessed, and teaches dental self care using toothbrushes and toothpaste we provide.

The women who cook on wood fires, care for children, and tend the fields inspired me. I couldn’t bring my daughter back to life, but I could ensure that these daughters would receive women’s preventive health care.

This year we’re educating the community about the dangers of isolating menstruating girls and women in primitive huts in the belief that they are contaminated. This ancient custom causes distress, illness, and even death.

Sustainable quantities of medications such as inhalers for lung disease, non-narcotic painkillers, anti-hypertensives, and birth control pills.

Dental instruments, materials for filling teeth, and medical supplies.

Financial support for our Nepali dentist, hygienist, physical therapist and translators.
