The reason being, Salah, Nevin and Ibtisam still need help surviving.

We have been so fortunate that we have had so many donations and raised so much money for the family, however, the total we have raised does not reflect their living conditions. We are so lucky to have raised so much, however, the money raised has gone. The cost of living in Gaza at times has been so high, for example, a bag of flour cost $50+. The rent of the apartment has risen, buying medicine for Ibtisam and Nevin. Also, the donations go to a wider variety of people. The money donated buys meals for the surrounding family and neighbours of the family too.

It is the the Palestinian nature to share with those most needy. We are considering starting a new Gofundme fundraiser, so that new donors don't get the wrong impression that the family are in some way wealthy.

We are so thankful and appreciative to our regular donors, the family estimates they need roughly £1000 p/m to eat, pay for the apartment and medicine, and we just about get that every month, however, the donations are dwindling unfortunately.

There is no way for Salah to work, as his profession was a barber, but haircuts are now seen as a "luxury" in Gaza. He still cuts hair, it gives people some dignity, but he doesn't ask for money in return.

Thank you to everyone that has donated, it means the world to the family. one day we hope this situation will be behind them, and everyone else in Gaza. But it's a long road.

Peace be upon you, I am Salah Al-Hasanat from Gaza, I used to work in a barbershop and before October 7, I and my family were living in peace.

Your donations go towards the family’s accommodation, food and occasionally Ibtisam’s medication. Her lungs haven’t developed properly (like most children born in the genocide) and she has ongoing health issue.

My family and I have moved back to our neighbourhood in the last few weeks but unfortunately, our house and barbershop has been destroyed. I am shaving and cutting hair for people in the street because the salon was destroyed. I cannot support my family of the difficult situation and everything is expensive at the present time. I cannot work because of the winter and the cold weather. I hope you can help us rebuild our lives.

My wife Nevin and I have a baby daughter, born in January 2025 called Ibtisam, if you could please support us in building our life and family back up again, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My name is Kate and I’ve started this go fund me for our friends Salah and Nevin in Palestine. Our Brother would like to rebuild his barbershop after it was destroyed in the genocide so they can try make an income for their orphaned nephews and nieces, as well as their daughter, expected in December 2024.
