On Friday morning at around 3:45 AM, our dear friend’s life changed in an instant. Someone set a trash can on fire outside their garage, and within minutes, the flames spread to their home. They woke up just in time to escape—grabbing their cats and getting out safely. We are beyond grateful they made it out alive, but everything they own was not as fortunate. The fire tore through their condo, and what wasn’t destroyed by flames was ruined by heavy smoke. The fire department had to spray the entire home—inside and out—with water and foam to put it out. As a result, nearly everything is lost: clothing, shoes, furniture, their bed, personal keepsakes, and irreplaceable art. While they do have renters insurance, it will not come close to covering the full extent of their loss or the immediate costs of starting over. In a matter of hours, they went from having a home to having to rebuild their life from scratch. We are raising funds to help them get back on their feet—covering urgent needs like clothing, temporary housing, food, and eventually replacing essential furniture and household items. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
