Many of you know I recently moved to Mexico to keep my family together because of my husband's visa situation. Since arriving, I've joined a local folklorico dance group to connect with the community and feel a sense of belonging.

The group was founded just a few months ago, on May 30, 2025. We live in a small town with very few resources, and we currently pay for our dance teacher out of our own pockets every other week. While the dancers are incredibly dedicated, they can't perform at upcoming community events because they lack the proper attire. They recently gave a small presentation using improvised outfits, but to truly showcase their art, they need traditional costumes.

This fundraiser is to help the group purchase at least one full folklorico outfit for each dancer. The complete costume includes:

-Dancing shoes

-Dancing skirts and shirts

-Hair and other accessories

With 15 girls in the group, we've estimated the cost to be around $135 per person. My biggest hope is that we can reach our goal in time for the dancers to perform for the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations—a deeply meaningful event for our community.
