On 1st January 2026, Casey and Steven welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Romie-Pearl Patricia Plumstead, into the world far earlier than expected. Born at just 26 weeks and weighing only 2lb, Romie is currently fighting bravely in NICU.

Her arrival was sudden and traumatic, following complications that led to an emergency C-section. Since then, Casey and Steven have been living every parent’s worst nightmare — recovering from major surgery, spending every day by their baby’s incubator, and trying to stay strong for their two young boys.

They are now living at Ronald McDonald House for the next few months to be close to Romie, while also facing eviction through no fault of their own, as their landlord is selling the house. They have no confirmed home yet, and the emotional and financial pressure during this time is immense.

Despite everything, Romie is showing incredible strength and determination. Known by the nurses as “Feisty Romie”, she continues to surprise everyone with her progress each day.
