Help our father recover from senseless shooting

On Thursday evening, August 14th, 2025, Coach Mario’s life changed forever. While at a boxing gym in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood, an argument escalated into violence, and my father was shot multiple times during what should have been a safe training environment.

What Happened

On that evening, two kids from the gym were sparring when the father of one of the children began trash talking and using vulgar language. My father, being the responsible trainer he is, confronted the man and told him not to speak vulgarly in front of the kids or he could leave.

This simple request to maintain respect around children escalated into a violent confrontation. The man retrieved a gun and shot my father six times. He sustained serious gunshot wounds and was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The Road Ahead

The medical bills are mounting, and we don't know how long his recovery will take. My father has always been dedicated to fitness and the boxing community - a place that should have been safe became the scene of this senseless violence. He faces:
