Hello, I am Veera's son, Kaiser.

My family and I want to thank you in advance for your generous support, and well wishes in helping my father through his recovery.

Veera, is a dedicated and generous person who cares for everyone around him. He is always the first to provide help to those in need and would go out of his way to ensure everyone around him is taken care of. He also dedicated his life to providing for his family, which is why he has been living in California alone, while the rest of the family is in Canada.

On November 28th, while working from home my father experienced a stroke. Through the quick decisive actions of his teammates at work, the emergency paramedics were notified and dispatched to take him to the Hospital Emergency Care. Unfortunately, there was some delay between his stroke and the medical care, it is generally known the first three hours after a stroke are critical. But fortunately, the hospital staff were about to get him stable and cared after. The medical staff at Parkview Community Hospital have our thanks and deep gratitude!

But following the prognosis, the doctor explained to us that the stroke has affected his motor functions, most particularly on the right side of his body which he can barely move, but also his ability to speak and write. His cognition may have also been affected, so daily living requires a lot of assistance from professionals right now.

At this point, he will need to be admitted into a rehabilitation centre to get intensive therapy for physio and speech. Doctors aren't able to give us time to recovery, so he may need to stay there for a period of time.

While he has insurance to help fund some of the services, it may not be enough due to the length of stay that he may have to stay there. Not to mention, what follow-up care he'll need after he is dispatched from the rehab center.

In light of all this uncertainty, we are starting the GoFundMe page in hopes that we can get some additional support from anyone who is able to. Any small amount is a big help and will go a long way.

To all of my father's colleagues, we can not thank you enough for acting so decisively, for calling 911 and getting him the urgent attention he needed. Because of you, he is alive and is making steady progress on his recovery.
