Update – January 2026

Hi everyone — I just want to start by saying thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated, shared, or even just sent kind words. It truly means more than I can put into words.

I also want to be honest about where things stand right now. We recently had to close the Galaxy Stoneworks showroom due to financial strain. While the business is still open in a very limited capacity, the loss of the showroom has completely taken away my steady income and most of our regular customer flow. We are essentially in survival mode while we try to regroup, market ourselves again, and build new income.

At the same time, we are behind on rent, our phone and internet are at risk of being shut off, and we are trying to keep everything running for our kids and our family. Michael is working painting cars to bring in what he can, and I’m doing everything possible to build new streams of income, but when everything hits at once — rent, utilities, phones, food — it becomes overwhelming very fast.

If you’re able to donate, even a few dollars, it goes directly toward keeping our family housed, connected, and fed while we work to get through this transition. And if you can’t donate, sharing this helps more than you know.

Thank you for being here, for caring, and for helping us survive one of the hardest chapters of our lives.

With gratitude,
Nikki & Michael

_____________________________________

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I’m reaching out with one of the hardest asks I’ve ever had to make. Our family business has been our life for years, but after yet another setback, we are now just weeks away from losing everything unless we get help.

I want to share our journey so you can understand how we got here.

Our Story – A Timeline
• September 2019 – I left my full-time job to help with our family business.
• February 2020 – I found out I was pregnant. Soon after, COVID hit and our business suffered greatly.
• October 2020 – My son was born.
• March 2021 – I took over the company from my father. We struggled for several years, doing everything we could to stay afloat.
• December 2023 – My father suffered a heart attack.
• January 2024 – We lost the location we had worked out of for 14 years.
• February 2024 – We found a new location and essentially had to start over, but nothing was the same.
• Summer 2024 – My father became very ill with sepsis, on top of congestive heart failure, Parkinson’s, and diabetes, and could no longer work.
• September 2024 – My parents sold their home and moved in with us so I could care for them.
• October 2024 – Michael’s girls came back to live with us full-time. Overnight we grew from a family of four to a family of eight.
• November 2024 – We moved into a larger home to accommodate everyone. Around the same time, Michael started Galaxy Stoneworks as we attempted to dissolve Galaxie Granite.
• January 2024 – I took on a second job at night, working 15-hour days three times a week (and weekends when needed), while Michael also worked security shifts at night and sometimes weekends at his father’s body shop—all while still running the company.
• Mid–2025 – We were forced to move offices again due to financial struggles. Unfortunately, this move has caused business to come to a complete halt. Many of our clients don’t even know where to find us, and it will take time and money to market ourselves again.
• Now (Fall 2025) – We are completely out of money. Rent is due at both our office and our home. Our car is up for repossession. Michael has gone back to work at his dad’s body shop painting, but it’s not enough to keep us going. We’ve fought as hard as we could, but we can’t do this alone anymore.

Right now, we simply need help to cover rent, keep food on the table for our children, and hold on long enough to get through this transition.

We have been praying to God for answers, and this is where faith meets action—asking for help from the kindness of others.

Any support, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. If you cannot donate, sharing our story would mean the world.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your encouragement as we navigate the hardest chapter of our lives.

With gratitude,
Nikki & Michael Hernandez and Family ❤️
