Hi, we are the Wee family, and we are reaching out during one of the hardest times we’ve ever faced.
A few days ago, our home was broken into and we were robbed of all our cash and valuables. Among the stolen items were irreplaceable heirlooms — including my parents’ wedding jewelry — pieces that held deep sentimental value and represented decades of love, sacrifice, and hard work.
This wasn’t just a random break-in. We believe our family was targeted. In recent months, there’s been a disturbing rise in robberies targeting Asian business owners around the Philadelphia area. Our house was ransacked and stripped of all the cash and every valuable item in our home.
My mom runs a small beauty supply store that serves the local community, offering African American hair products like wigs, soaps, and styling tools. She’s poured her heart into this business, often working long hours, seven days a week, to support our family and build honest connections with her customers.
To know that someone watched her, followed her, and waited for the right moment to violate our home and our trust is heartbreaking. The emotional toll this has taken on our family, especially on my parents, has been overwhelming. We now face the financial strain of replacing what was stolen, improving home security, and keeping the business running — all while trying to heal emotionally from this trauma.
We’re not the kind of people who usually ask for help. But right now, we could really use the support of our extended community — friends, neighbors, customers, and anyone who understands the fear and pain of being targeted and violated.
Every dollar donated will go toward:
- Replacing essential household items and cash that was stolen
- Investing in security equipment for our home and my mom’s store
- Helping stabilize our family as we recover emotionally and financially
We are currently investigating the break-in with the police; however, they believe that the robbers were highly experienced, and we are unlikely to identify the perpetrators or recover any of the items. They were able to disable our cameras and made sure not to leave any fingerprints or any other evidence.
Even if you can’t donate, just sharing our story means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
With gratitude and hope,
The Wee Family
