Writing to you after coming up for a bit of air after a tough lil stretch in life. On January 21st, just three days after the birth of our son, we discovered mold in our home.

By the time he was six days old, we received the results of a professional inspection and learned the full extent of the issue. In the area where our kids sleep, mold levels were measured at over 700 times what is considered acceptable, including the presence of toxic species. Our HVAC was the second biggest area of concern- resulting in whole house contamination.

In the days that followed we learned of 3 separate and undisclosed water events which occurred prior to us buying the home. Further inspection revealed significant construction defects leading to multiple areas of mold in our home.

With guidance from our inspector, our doctor, and our own research, we made the difficult decision to leave our home for good. We packed only what we could confidently sanitize and clean and walked away from the rest.

Over the past few months, this has meant moving from airbnb to airbnb, finding a new place to live, replacing essential belongings, all while experiencing feeding challenges with our baby, finding out Alex's mom has cancer and carrying the emotional and logistical weight of it all. This season has required more of us than we knew we had to give.

Now that we have found a safe place to live, we’ve been focused on restoring a sense of safety, health, and stability for our children. We are SO happy to see Kaia's unexplained and constant redness in her face disappear. We are hopeful to see other mysterious health concerns resolve with time in a safe environment and a detox protocol overseen by our wonderful Dr.

We’re sharing this because several people have asked how they can support us, and this feels like the most direct way to receive that support.

Funds raised will go toward:

-Replacing essential household items and furniture

-Covering temporary and/or new housing costs

-Supporting health and recovery related expenses
