My name is Trashawn Kirby, and I work as a school bus driver. I created this GoFundMe to help my family after we experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed our home and everything inside turned our lives upside down. The electrical fire started in the basement and quickly made its way up to the second floor where we lived. In a matter of moments, we lost all our valuables and everything we’ve ever owned. Thankfully, my parents, my two brothers, our dog, and I all made it out safely, but we are now displaced and staying in a hotel because we have nowhere else to go. The shock and heartbreak of losing our home has been overwhelming, and we are still trying to process everything that has happened.
We are asking for support as we begin the long and difficult journey of rebuilding our lives. The funds raised will go directly toward temporary housing, replacing essentials, and buying clothing for our family. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us cover the costs of starting over and give us some stability as we figure out our next steps. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for us during this incredibly hard time. Please also keep our neighbors downstairs in your prayers who lost everything and two loved ones (42 year old father, Kenneth and 12 year old son, Mekhi).
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read our story, share our fundraiser, or offer support. Your prayers, messages, and donations mean more to us than words can express. We are deeply grateful for every person who stands with us as we try to move forward and rebuild. Thank you for helping our family find hope again.
