Help Our Family Rebuild After Desert Fire

Donation protected

On July 14th, a devastating fire swept through our family’s land in the remote desert, destroying my brother Zack’s trailer—my childhood home—and everything inside. Zack, his fiancée, and their three children (Junior, Robbie, and Maxx) lost not only their shelter, but also the new water tank that was meant to provide clean water for both their family and our parents, Bob and Myrna. Now, everyone is staying together in my parents’ trailer, relying on an old, leaking water tank and managing without running water. Every day, they haul buckets to fill the swamp cooler, clean, and flush the toilet. The extreme heat has even caused electrical issues, leaving only half the power working in the trailer where everyone is crowded together.

Our family has called this land home since I was in second grade. It’s more than just a place—it’s where we’ve built our lives, where my grandparents and aunt are buried, and where we’ve always come together in times of need. The fire didn’t just take a building; it took a piece of our history and our sense of security. Despite losing nearly everything, including cars and keepsakes, we are determined to rebuild and restore what’s been lost.

We’re asking for help to replace the destroyed water tank, secure basic rebuilding materials, and provide emergency provisions so Zack’s family and our parents can have safe shelter and access to clean water again. Every contribution will help us turn this heartbreak into hope and ensure our family can stay together on the land that means so much to us. Thank you for standing with us as we begin to rebuild from the ashes.
