My name is Rebecca, and I am reaching out on behalf of my family as we navigate an incredibly difficult time. We are currently experiencing homelessness, staying in hotels when we can afford it, but often struggling to meet even our most basic needs. Our hotel doesn’t have internet access, which makes it hard for us to apply for jobs and connect with resources. We have limited food options since we aren’t allowed to cook, and with an almost two-year-old to care for, my husband and I often go without meals so our daughter can eat. We are also trying to care for our pets, making sure they have food and supplies, even as we stretch every dollar.

Transportation is another challenge—we have very little fuel, and we save what we have for trips to the library to access the internet or for important appointments and job interviews. Every day feels like a balancing act, and the stress of not knowing if we’ll have a safe place to stay or enough food for our family weighs heavily on us. All funds raised will go directly toward covering our basic needs: hotel stays, food, internet access, transportation, and pet supplies.
