Our Aunt, Dorothy Ah Yuk has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). The next step on this journey for Aunty Dorothy is Chemo and Immuno Therapy. Unfortunately, Aunty Dorothy’s Health Insurance will not cover this treatment, which means the family has a bill of NZ$130,000.00 to cover the 8 cycles of treatment required. Each cycle needs to be paid upfront and in full before the hospital will begin treatment, which needs to commence as soon as possible.

If you know our Aunty Dorothy, you know that she is a strong headed and tenacious woman with no quit in her. This diagnosis is not the end of her story, and we want to fight this with her. Aunty Dorothy has touched so many lives and so many hearts in her own special way and if this was one of us, we know that she would give a hundred percent and more.

We have a created a GoFundMe account to assist the Ah Yuk family with this significant expense. She will receive treatment at Auckland Oncology and her family will continue to update you here on how her treatment is progressing.
