Help our Family - Father in Hospital

Hi, my name is Bec and I am fundraising for my family.

On the 7th of April, my husband was in a serious accident on his beloved Harley, he suffered a medical episode and blacked out while riding. He side swiped a tree and crashed into a nearby paddock on his way to work.

He was flown by helicopter in an induced coma to Royal Perth Hospital, he suffered a brain bleed, broken ribs, fractured spine and a compound fracture to his tib and fib in his right leg.

He spent three days in ICU, before being transferred to the State Major Trauma Unit, and now Fiona Stanley’s rehabilitation ward due to his brain injury.

Hes suffering Post Traumatic Amnesia which is lasting longer then doctors expect.

Two weeks before his accident we were given a 60 day notice to vacate our house we’ve lived in for the last 5 years.

We are now faced with having to move closer to Perth to be around him as he’s not doing well mentally in hospital, and to be closer to the much needed facilities he will need.

As he can’t work, we have lost his income, and I will also have to leave my employment to be his carer.

Ive almost exhausted all my sick and annual leave staying at his bedside while also travelling 3 and a half hours each way to come back to check on our kids and start packing up our home ready to move. We still have yet to find a house, have to move with no help, all while trying to be at his side when needed.

The funds if we get any, will be used to help move and secure a home for us.
