Help our children at Compassion Orphanage

Last December, I had the pleasure of visiting La Compassion Orphelinat (orphanage), in Selembawu county, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. What I saw during my visit was heartbreaking. Despite the children’s smiling faces and playing, the conditions they were (and are) living in is unsuitable for their health and growth.
The orphanage is currently housing 55 children and has one bed room, where all the boys and girls sleep. We saw old and deteriorated mattresses outside that the children use for sleeping, with no bedsheets. Most of the children did not have enough clothes to wear. One child telling me that a lot of them have been itching for sometime due to the clothing provided. During my visit, I saw sick children and told they were unable to receive their prescribed treatments because the organization did not have the money.
On a regular bases, due to lack of finances and support, the children would be fortunate to have eaten at least one meal a day. But during these difficult times, they have become the forgotten ones. With little to no financial support and essential items being supplied to them, the orphanage is facing difficulties in providing the children with their basic essential and nonessential needs. Please, find it in your heart to help donate to La Compassion Orphelinat (orphanage). Your support will go towards providing essential and nonessential needs for each child.
