Help our Afghan Friends

Hi everyone! I am here to ask for your support to help our Afghan Friends. As you know, they recently arrived here with only their clothes on their backs. 

The initial arrivals will all be moved to one base, rather than be spread out to different bases throughout the US.  Our friends will be resettled to various parts of the US once their paperwork are completed, but no definitive date of when they will happen. There will now be over 120,000 of them with a little over 50% are children of all ages.

 

I am starting this fundraiser for our Afghan Friends who are currently in the NJ/PA area. I am a military mom and currently the President of the SE PA Air Force Academy Parents Association. I have been affiliated with the military for over 20 years. I was asked to assist because of the dire need of the items and they need assistance from the public who are willing to help.

 

Items that we take for granted has not been provided to them. I am assisting with the efforts in getting as many of the much-needed items to them as soon as possible.

 

The high need items are:

 

1) Strollers and Car Seats (they use these for the babies to sleep and to walk them around) - they have approximately 467 pregnant women currently on Base right now. There are also many infants and toddlers as well.

 

2) Clothing

 

3) Shoes - sneakers of all size - since winter is coming. Large majority of them only have flip-flops and sandals.

 

4) Winter Coats

 

5) Socks, underwear, undershirts, sports bras

 

6) Body Soap

 

7) Shampoo

 

8) Blankets

 

9) Lice Shampoo

 

Medium needs:

1) Notebooks

 

2) Pens

 

3) Pencil

 

4) Bookbags

 

Whatever you can donate would be much appreciated! Please pass this on to everyone that you can so that we can make this happen!

I am purchasing items as I am receiving the donations so that there is a constant flow of items to them rather than wait for weeks or months.
