Help Oskar get back to his happy self!
Donation protected

Hi everyone, as you all may or may not know Oskar has been at GCUH since Monday due to being in immense pain and doctors are trying desperately to find answers. Doctors currently beleive Oskar has myositis which is a chronic condition.
Oskar has a range of medical complications his main diagnosis being nicolaides baraitser syndrome as well as cerebral dysfunction, microcephally, hypertonia, hypotonia, dystonia, failure to thrive and complex epilepsy. Since November Maria has spent weeks in hospital with Oskar, almost loosing him in November when he was admitted to critical care due to being in status epilepticus and having sepsis. He made a full recovery but has been rushed to resus twice since then and almost had to be intubated.
Maria and Doug are having to take time of work, pay for parking, fuel and also the cost of eating out due to having Ozzie in hospital all the time.
Maria and Doug are determined to get their smiley happy boy back and want to ensure Oskar has the best quality of life possible. They have always lived by the motto quality over quantity.
Maria plans to take Oskar down the path of looking into natural medicines which can be very costly. They want to ensure they get Oskar seen as quickly as possible so they can resume their normal lives and get back to being one happy family under one roof.
An account will be set up for Oskar to assist with any ongoing medical costs that NDIS will not cover.
Applying to NDIS for extra funding in different areas means completing a full reveiw of his plan which can take up to 6 weeks to complete. In this time Maria and Doug will have to pay everything themselves out of pocket and it is just not achievable.
I know times are tough for everyone but every little bit counts and I know Maria and Doug will be forever grateful for your generosity. They hate asking for help and always try to manage everything themselves, but I think it's time we assist them and take away some of the financial burden so they can focus on Oskar and get him back to full health asap.
Thank you all SO much.
