Meet Oscar and his family. Oscar is an incredible 11-year-old boy—truly a “miracle from God” as Oscar Sr. tells it. He loves music, listening to his father sing, and spending time with his siblings and parents. While Oscar faces challenges as a child with Cerebral Palsy, blindness, and seizure disorder, his disabilities do not define him and will not dominate his story.

Over a year ago, Oscar’s parents made the brave decision to come to our community in order to gain access to excellent medical care and advance the quality of their dear son's life. Oscar has progressed to the point where he is expected to begin attending school in the upcoming weeks—a dream come true for the entire family.

Oscar’s father is the definition of a tireless worker and selfless human, and yet, he is recently unemployed. As a result, the family is experiencing significant financial difficulty—the type of hardship that leaves Oscar’s parents to worry about how rent will be paid, utilities kept on, and enough food to sustain the family.

Oscar requires constant medical care and vigilance, and his parents are his sole caregivers. Please help to provide Oscar’s family some relief during this time and let them know that we, too, believe in the dream for Oscar’s future.
