Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency. A few weeks ago, I witnessed something that truly changed me. While in the Southchase area of Orlando, I saw a homeless man collapse—likely from heat exhaustion or a heat stroke. I immediately ran across the street to grab cold water at the Marathon gas station, but was met with resistance from the worker simply because the man was homeless. I pleaded for help, reminding him that this was a human being in distress. I eventually got the water, and others were already calling 911—but by the time I got back, it was too late. He had passed.
That moment broke me. No one deserves to be ignored, dehumanized, or left to suffer like that—regardless of their circumstances.
So now, I want to do something. I’m raising funds to create care bags—what I’m calling “S.A.K. Bags” (Support And Kindness)—to hand out to the homeless here in Orlando. Each bag will include:
• Cold bottled water
• Snacks and non-perishable food
• Sunblock
• Hygiene items
• Small goodies for comfort
• Dog food for those with pets
These bags could mean the difference between life and death during this brutal heat, and a reminder to someone out there that they’re seen, valued, and cared for.
Anything you can give—big or small—will make a difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me help them.
