Be part of a historic moment in Norwegian space exploration.

Volunteer student organisation Orbit NTNU is preparing for something truly unique. We are heading to Andøya for a launch attempt carrying our satellite, FramSat-1, a milestone not only for our organization, but for Norway’s space history.

This moment is the result of years of student-driven work since 2020. Countless hours have gone into developing the satellite, building expertise, and turning a vision into reality: designing, building and operating the first Norwegian satellite in orbit launched from Norwegian soil.

However, rocket launches are highly dependent on weather and safety conditions. Our launch has already been postponed multiple times, which is outside our control, and each delay leads to significant travel costs (without getting to see the launch).

Traveling to Andøya is expensive, and repeated trips or extended stays quickly become a major financial burden for students. Still, this is a moment we cannot miss. As it’s our first launch since 2022, we want as many members as possible to experience it live, without having to take on a big financial burden.

This is more than just a launch. It is the result of years of dedication, and a rare opportunity for students to witness their own work reach space, while contributing to the future of Norway’s space industry.

That is why we are asking for your support.

With your contribution, more of our members can be present at launch to experience, learn, and take part in this historic moment. All members will contribute financially themselves with 2-3000 NOK per trip, but additional funding will make it possible for more to attend at Andøya, support travel to future launches like FramSat-1.5 (where we might end up in the same situation), and help us document this journey.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

Donations above 500 NOK will be credited in our documentary, and above 2500 NOK will receive a FramSat t-shirt after the launch (if based in Norway).
