Help open Croatia's first women's crisis center

Donation protected

During the month of May, Expat in Croatia is raising funds to help Udruga Domine open Croatia's first women's crisis center for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Established in 2002, Udruga Domine is a non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Split, Croatia that strives to improve and support women's rights through programs and education.

They also offer counseling, psycho-social assistance, legal support and housing to victims of domestic and sexual violence. You can learn more about Udruga Domine here: https://www.expatincroatia.com/udruga-domine/

As part of Croatia's ratification of the Istanbul Convention, the government was supposed to open crisis centers to serve the community. They did not, so Domine is taking up the mantle.

Domestic violence in Croatia has exponentially increased since the start of the pandemic, so a center like this is needed now more than ever.

Anything you can spare to give will directly help women who have suffered domestic or sexual violence in Croatia, who are in need of counseling, legal assistance and safe accommodation.

Both myself and Domine are grateful for any and all contributions made to support this effort.
